Cooler for the Halloween Weekend

A wind advisory is in effect for the mountains until 12pm. Wind across theΒ high country will be out of the NW at 15-20 mph with gusts of 40+mph. Dry, cool air channeling into the region with a breezy afternoon ahead for the Piedmont. Highs will range from the mid-40s for the mountains to the upper 60s across the Piedmont. Overnight lows will bottom out in the low 40s. Even cooler for Halloween with highs onlyΒ reaching the low 60s. A chanceΒ for a few sprinkles Halloween night with scattered showers lingering into Sunday morning. Temps will reach the mid-60s Sunday, but much colder air will reach the region early next week. Overnight lows will fall into the mid-30s with highs only reaching the mid-50s. We will likely have our first frost across the region next week with temps in the mid-30s under clear skies for overnight lows for the first half of the week. Highs will rebound into the upper 60s by late in the week.
