Winter Chill Arrives to Initiate November

Freeze Warnings have been posted for virtually every county north and west of the Charlotte Metro.

As we turn back the clocks and turn the page to November, freezing temperatures are here to greet us. A cold front swept through the Carolinas this afternoon, bringing scattered rain chances up front and a heavy dose of cold air on its backside. The coldest temperatures we’ve seen since late April arrive this evening, as Freeze Warnings have been posted for virtually every county to the north and west of the Charlotte Metro through tomorrow morning. Wind chills could reach 0º in the High Country to start out our Monday, while it will feel like the 20s and 30s in the Foothills and Piedmont. Highs will struggle to get out of the 40s and 50s for the first day of the workweek, but a steady warm-up should get us back to near-normal values by Friday. Rain chances return to the slim-to-none range for the next five days.
