CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CNN reports a “non-scalable” fence is being put up around the perimeter of the White House as federal authorities prepare for possible protests following the election.
The temporary fence started to go up on Monday, November 2nd, and will stretch across Ellipse and Lafayette square, go down 15th Street to Constitution Avenue, and then over to 17th street, according to CNN.
CNN officials say the fence will then run up to H Street and across by Lafayette, and then come down 15th Street.
The fence was originally put up this summer during the protests against police brutality and racial injustice surrounding the death of George Floyd, according to CNN.
CNN officials say this extra layer of security prepares the White House for unrest right before the highly anticipated U.S. Presidential Election, especially is there is no clear winner by November 4th.
