Charlotte Rescue Mission Needs 700 Donated Turkeys ASAP

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A local nonprofit wants to make sure families in need don’t have to worry about food this Thanksgiving. The Charlotte Rescue Mission is collecting 12 to 15 pound frozen turkeys. Like many, the Rescue Mission has taken a hit during the pandemic.

The organization’s CEO, Tony Marciano, says they’re a few hundred birds short of their goal. “We have 4,400 commitments for Thanksgiving food boxes, but we’re 700 short. We only have commitment for 3,700 turkeys. I need 700 more turkeys just like this one in the next few days,” says Marciano.

Donations can be dropped off at the Rescue Mission’s office on W. 1st Street. It’s across from the Panthers practice field.
