Cool Days and Cold Nights Dominate the Week

A beautiful week ahead with plenty of sunshine and cooler temperatures.

Tropics (as of 10 PM): Tropical Storm Iota has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and is moving W at 12 mph. Iota will weaken as it continues west over Central America and toward the Pacific Ocean. Significant flooding and a landslide threat will continue for parts of Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.

Calm, clear, cool and dry conditions will dominate the week ahead. Temperatures fall through midweek with lows Tuesday night into Wednesday morning at or below freezing for most. Same song, same dance on Thursday morning as low temperatures bottom out near 30 degrees in the Piedmont and 20s in the High Country. By Friday, high temperatures will bounce back to the upper 60s across the Piedmont. The weekend looks mainly dry and a bit warmer as we top out near 70 with lows in the 30s and 40s.

Tonight: Clear Skies. Low: 33Β°. Wind: N/NW 5-10 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny skies. High: 54Β°. Wind: N 5-10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Clear skies. Low: 30Β°. Wind: Calm.

Have a great week!
