Healthy Headlines: Diabetes Awareness Month

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — November is Diabetes Awareness Month, which hopes to raise awareness of the impact of diabetes. It is a chronic health condition that affects how your body turns food into energy.

More than 34 million American adults have diabetes, which is the leading cause of kidney failure, lower-limb amputations, and blindness.

In this week’s Healthy Headlines, we discuss this important health issue with Meagan Bystrzycki, a physician assistant at the Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic.
