CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department say they have additionally charged a 15-year-old boy for the murder of Joshua Clawson.
Original Story (11/23/20):
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives say a 16-year-old girl has been charged for the murder of a teenage boy after he died two days after being shot in west Charlotte.
Officers responded around 2:15 p.m. on Friday to Reid Avenue off of Clanton Road after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located 16-year-old Joshua Clawson with an apparent gunshot wound, and he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old teen was identified as a suspect in this case, and on Sunday, she was located and arrested by officers.
Shortly after she was arrested, Clawson, died due to his injuries. Police say as a result, the suspect has since been charged with murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
