Check out this video from EarthCam as a fireball Meteor produced a huge flash over Upstate New York this afternoon around noon ET. Reports of a loud boom from Ontario to Virginia.
According to the American Meteor Society a fireball is “another term for a very bright meteor, generally brighter than magnitude -4, which is about the same magnitude of the planet Venus.” Fireballs are not uncommon, but are often masked by daylight.
