With Worsening Pandemic, Should NFL Continue The Season?
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says the league is not planning to hold the playoffs in a single-location bubble, a concept that the NBA, NHL and MLB have all adopted. Goodell says the league feels strongly that the current protocols are working. But this week alone, the NFL made multiple adjustments to its schedule, including the Baltimore Ravens facing off against the Pittsburgh Steelers Wednesday night, which comes six days after the game was originally scheduled to take place.
Author Stephen King is even sounding off on the topic, tweeting, “The NFL is nuts to still be playing football.” And many co-signed, adding, “It’s nuts that all those football players are willing to risk their careers to play this year,” and, “I don’t even see the point, to be honest. Why not just take the year off and set a better example for social distancing?”
Our question of the night: should the NFL continue with the season?
