MORGANTON, N.C. — Deputies with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office say Mary Brown, 26, is under arrest for engaging in a sexual act with a foster child.

Police say Brown was arrested on December 2nd without incident, and is being held under a $100,000 bond at the Burke County Jail on the charge of a felony sex act by a substitute parent.
The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services-Child Protective Services reported the allegations of sexual abuse with a foster child on November 30th, 2020 to investigators with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release.
