Rain Friday with a Beautiful December Weekend

An area of low pressure will elevate rain chances as we head through Friday.

An area of low pressure will race northeastward from the northern Gulf Coast which will be our next weather system as we close out the work week. Expect increasing clouds this evening with humidity rising through the day on Friday. Temperatures jump back to near 60Β° on Friday with cloudy skies and scattered to numerous showers. The first half of the day Friday will be mainly dry with an isolated shower possible. As the area of low pressure moves over the Carolinas, rain chances will increase to numerous late afternoon through Friday evening. No severe weather is expected, but a few rumbles of thunder are possible across the Piedmont. This system will move quickly, therefore, rain clears for the weekend! TheΒ High Country could once again see snow showers or even a mixedΒ bag of precipitation with this front Friday night into early Saturday morning.
