CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives say 26-year-old Harry Winfield died after crashing his 2003 Honda CRV into a daycare center on November 3rd.
Officers say they responded to the fatal crash around 8 p.m. on East W. T. Harris Boulevard, to find Winfield dead at the scene.
Police say Winfield was speeding in the left lane of East W. T. Harris Boulevard, when he lost control of his Honda and went off the right side of the road hitting the daycare.
The daycare was unoccupied, no other vehicles were involved, and there were no other occupants in the Honda at the time of the crash, officials say.
Police say Winfield was speeding and not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
