Albemarle Detectives Arrest 3 Suspects For Murder From A 2018 Fatal Shooting

ALBEMARLE, N.C. — Detectives with the Albemarle Police Department say three suspects are under arrest for the murder of 24-year-old Brian Smith who was fatally shot on August 25th, 2018.

Montie Brewer, 21, Demetrion Pemberton, 21, and Haywood Forte, 23, were arrested on December 3rd for murder, and are being held at the Stanly County Jail without bond, according to a news release.

Detectives say they responded to a possible gunshot wound around 5:40 p.m. on August 25th near the area of Walnut Street and Hill Street when they found Smith dead at the scene, and have been following up with leads ever since.

Brewer, Pemberton, and Forte will appear in court on December 7th, according to a news release.
