Tracking Showers Monday, More Cold Air

Expect overnight lows to return to the 20s and teens by midweek.

The sunny skies have been nice, but noticeable changes are coming to the forecast yet again. Similar to what we saw on Friday, clouds will build in as the sun sets, followed by rain overnight. This time, however, the rain won’t be nearly as heavy as what we saw to end our last workweek. We may have some clearing for our Monday morning before another round of rain in the afternoon as low pressure passes to the east. On the back end of the system comes northwesterly flow and frigid Arctic air. Our mountain communities above 5000′ can expect about an inch of snow through Monday night as lows return to the teens. The Piedmont won’t be much warmer this week, either, as the Charlotte Metro will wake up to the 20s and 30s for much of the week ahead. On the bright side (literally), sunny skies should take over on Tuesday and will last through the weekend.
