Charlotte Fire Engine Crashes In North Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Officials with the Charlotte Fire Department say Engine 28 was involved in a single-vehicle crash that caused the truck to roll over and three firefighters to be transported to a local hospital.

Investigators say the fire truck crashed around 4:30 a.m. December 20th on Sunset Road in north Charlotte while responding to a home fire alarm call for service.

All four firefighters on board where evaluated at the scene, and three firefighters were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries for further evaluation but have since been released, according to a news release.

CMPD detectives say they are investigating the crash and will provide more information when it is available.
