Windy Overnight with Christmas Eve Rain

Secure loose objects in your yard tonight if you are in the High Country or Foothills.

– Wind Advisory for Alexander county and portions of Caldwell and Burke counties until 12 PM Tuesday.

– Lake Wind Advisory for Lancaster and Chesterfield Counties until 10 AM Tuesday.

– High Wind Warning from 6 PM Monday through noon Tuesday at elevations above 3,500 ft in the Mountains.

A cool and windy night ahead as low temperatures bottom out in the 30s. Winds will be out of the W/SW through the evening with gusts up to 60 mph possible across the High Country and 25 mph across the Piedmont. A ridge of high pressure dominates our weather on Tuesday and Wednesday so expect dry conditions and plenty of sunshine. Our next weather system arrives on Christmas Eve. This will bring numerous to widespread rain on Thursday and a BIG cool down for Christmas Day. The moisture and cold air will not meet up, therefore, no white Christmas this year across the Piedmont. The Mountains will likely see some snow Christmas Eve and Christmas Eve night.

Don’t forget about the great Saturn and Jupiter Conjunction this evening. More information here:https://bit.ly/2KpUeJk
