Our Nice List of Gingerbread Treats in CLT
Sorry Santa, these treats are so good we're keeping them for ourselves.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — I don’t know about you, but I’ve been eating my weight in treats this holiday season and gingerbread flavored anything is always my Christmas go-to. We rounded up those gingeriffic treats that make our Nice List this year. (To be honest, I’d eat the Naughty List at this point as well.)
Sunflour Baking Company
Ain’t not muffin like a Gingerbread Muffin cause a Gingerbread Muffin got… ginger. And bread. Both great things. Sunflour Baking Company’s Bourbon Glazed Gingerbread Muffin ($3.25) is drizzled with magic cause you know they don’t play when it comes to flavor. It’s also vegan and gluten free. They also have a Gingerbread Molasses cookie ($2.25) with a crunchy sugar crust and chewy inside, Gingerbread Cupcakes ($3.25) and Coffee Cakes (varies), Gingerbread Sauce for hot drinks and Gingerbread People decorating kits ($15.00) for the whole family. You’ve outdone yourself, Sunflour. *slow clap*
Ninety’s Ice Cream
Bread pudding is already amazeballs. But GINGERBREAD PUDDING? Don’t you mess with my emotions, Ninety’s Ice Cream. Their gingerbread bread pudding is $5.50 without ice cream and $6.50 a la mode! Baked daily, their bread pudding presents the perfect combination of textures with a gooey cake-like center, crispy gingerbread crumble topped with our delectable homemade cream cheese drizzle. It’s the perfect taste of the holidays.
Feelin’ festive and want to decorate some Gingerbread Houses with the fam? Suarez Bakery has you covered. Their Gingerbread Houses are $25 for a small, $35 for a medium and both include an icing bag for DIY decorating! Gingerbread men are also available.
Big View Diner
I saw this photo and fainted. Then ordered 4 slices for a mid-afternoon snack. Gingerbread Cheesecake! STAHP. $5.50 for a slice or $50 for a whole 10’’ cheesecake.
The Local Scoop
The Local Scoop is serving up the perfect Gingerbread Ice Cream: just traditional gingerbread spices; ginger cinnamon, cloves, molasses & nutmeg! IMO – grabbing a pint to make a boozy milkshake at home is the perfect ‘work from home’ afternoon pick-me-up. I kid – just seeing if my boss is reading this far into the article. Single scoop: $4.99 Double Scoop: $5.99. Pints are $7.95.
Golden Cow Creamery
Golden Cow Creamery chunks it up – and I like their style. Their Gingerbread Ice Cream from has pieces of gingerbread, frosting and peppermint. Available in both South End and South Park locations but it’s a special release and it won’t last long so hurry! Single Scoop: $4.50.
Eight + Sand Kitchen
It’s a Gingerbread Cruffin. What more do you need me to say? Cruffins do no wrong. $4.45
