City Of Charlotte Announces Solid Waste Holiday Schedule And Christmas Tree Collection Dates

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (News Release) — Following the Christmas holiday, Friday customers will be receiving collection today, Monday, December 28. Residents whose regular collection day is Monday through Thursday are asked to place their carts at the curb on their normal collection day and leave until collected. Friday customers will receive a second collection on Friday, January 1.  It is a green recycling collection week.

Additional information:

* Cardboard should be cut or torn into small pieces, not folded, and placed loosely in the recycling cart for collection. The rollout cart lid must be closed completely to ensure proper collection.

* Natural Christmas tree collection begins Monday, January 4, 2021. Natural Christmas trees can be placed at the curb on residents’ regular collection day. Artificial Christmas tree collection must be scheduled for a bulk item collection by calling 311 or online. All trees should be free from decorations including lights and ornaments.

* Solid Waste Services offers collection updates via text. Residents who would like to receive updates regarding impacts to their collection service, text their day of service to 732-24. For example, if their collection day is Monday, they would text Monday to 732-24.
