CMPD Investigating Fatal Stabbing In Northeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened shortly before 9:30pm on December 28th on Newell-Hickory Grove Road in northeast Charlotte, according to a news release.

Officers responded to a home on Newell-Hickory Grove Road near Grier Road in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon.  They located a victim with an apparent stab wound outside the residence, according to a news release.

Police say the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.  Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.  No arrests have been made at this time.  Anyone with information on this deadly stabbing is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
