Soggy End to 2020 with an Unsettled Start to 2021
The cold front we have been talking about all week will finally be moving into the WCCB viewing area today. Light showers and patchy fog will linger ahead of this system with highs reaching the upper 50s. An inversion will keep temps from climbing New Year’s Day, but the chance for isolated severe weather remains. A few storms could become severe late in the afternoon Friday. We’ll focus in onΒ areas with the biggest threats being damaging wind gusts and an isolated tornado. Heavy rain could lead to locallized flooding with 1-2″ likely through Friday. This boundary will stall along the coast, with clouds clearing a bit, temps will likely reach the upper 60s to low 70s, however we will likely bring more showers Saturday into Sunday with another 1/2″ of rain possible.
