CMPD: Detectives Charge A Man For Murder Following A Fatal Shooting In East Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives say 25-year-old Yosel Pineda has been charged for the death of Alejandro Arreola after a fatal shooting on December 21st.

Police say on January 2nd Pineda was arrested for two counts of assault by pointing a gun, and following an interview with detectives, he was charged with murder and taken into custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Pineda also faces charges of communicating threats, felonious restraint, and misdemeanor larceny, detectives say.

Detectives say they found the victim, 36-year-old Alejandro Arreola, with an apparent gunshot wound shortly before 9:30 p.m. on December 21st near Farm Pone Lane in east Charlotte.

Officers say Arreola was taken to a local hospital after the incident, where he later died.
