Cool & Cloudy Thursday with Rain & Snow Friday

Snow is on the way for some across the WCCB area.

Winter Storm Watches in effect Friday across the Mountains, Foothills and northwest Piedmont.

A chilly night ahead as low temperatures bottom out in the upper 20s to low 30s. Expect increasing clouds through Thursday with high temperatures near 50Β°. An area of low pressure is currently diving southward toward the Gulf Coast and will become our next weather system late Thursday through Friday. Rain will increase across the WCCB area overnight Thursday into Friday with snow increasing overnight across the Mountains. Through the morning hours on Friday, rain will transition to snow across the Foothills and northwest Piedmont with possible bursts of snow for some neighborhoods in Charlotte. TheΒ bestΒ chance to see snow accumulation will be along and north of I-40. For those along and south of the I-85 corridor, the chance for accumulation is very low,Β but some flurries and possibly a dusting is not out of the question.
