Dry & Sunny Weekend, Rain Lurks Ahead
Besides Monday and Tuesday, much of the week ahead looks dry for now.
We’re now on the other side of the first winter storm of the year for many of us, but you wouldn’t know it just by looking at temperatures. Sunny skies and near-average highs are left in the aftermath for the weekend, setting us up for what should be a typical early January pattern. Expect highs to top out near 50º in the Piedmont and Foothills, while the High Country will struggle to get much above 40º. The sunshine will be nice, but rain returns as soon as Monday evening, thanks to a weak disturbance sweeping in from the Gulf. Beyond Tuesday morning, another drier pattern sets up and will last for much of the week ahead. Things could get wintry for some of us again next weekend but, for now, expect mainly rain in Charlotte.
