Three Hurt In 8-Vehicle York County Crash On I-77

ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Rock Hill Police Department says three people were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash Friday morning on Interstate 77 northbound in York County.

The collision happened shortly before 7 a.m. on I-77 north at the Exit 82 entrance ramp. During the time of the incident all lanes were closed and began to reopen around 8:30 a.m., according to reports.

Officers say the crash involved eight vehicles. One person was airlifted to Atrium Health-Main with life-threatening injuries while two others were transported by EMS for injuries sustained in the collision, police say.

The Rock Hill Police Department Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
