Suspect Leads S.C. Troopers And Chester County Police In A High Speed Chase
CHESTER, S.C. — Deputies with the Chester County Sheriff’s Office say they were involved in a two-county high speed chase, with S.C. Highway Patrol, on Saturday morning that lead to a driver losing control of their vehicle and crashing.
Investigators say the chase began on South Carolina Highway 9 west, went into Union County, and then the vehicle returned to Chester County while driving over 100 mph.
Officers say as the chase continued through Chester, the vehicle went down South Carolina Highway 97 and turned onto Hardin Strait Road where they lost control and left the roadway hitting a tree and flipping over.
Investigators say the driver was immediately taken into custody, and to a local hospital to be treated for any injuries sustained in the crash.
Police say no officers were hurt, and further details will be released, such as the driver’s identity and charges, as soon as possible.
