“Painted Ponies Art Walk” To Kick Off January 30 In Southern Pines, NC

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – A fun family event is just days away from kicking off in Southern Pines, NC. Southern Pines (about a two hour drive from Charlotte) will host the “Painted Ponies Art Walk” from Saturday, January 30 to Tuesday, March 30.

This is a public art display of 12 life-size sculptures of horses that line Broad Street in Southern Pines. Visitors can walk around the downtown area and view the Ponies, as well as shop, dine and stroll. Local businesses sponsor each Pony, and area artists donate their time and talent to turn each Pony into a piece of beautiful art.

Along the Art Walk, shop windows will display flyers that have a QR code that you scan and then follow the virtual map to see all 12 Pony locations. (You can also get hand-held maps at the Visitor’s Center at 125 SE Broad Street.)

The Painted Ponies will then be auctioned off on April 3, to raise funds for Carolina Horse Park’s educational and environmental programs. The Carolina Horse Park (CHP) Foundation was established to create and support a 315-acre, nationally recognized premier equine competition venue and land preserve located in Hoke County, NC. Founded in 1998 as a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization by equestrian enthusiasts, CHP is dedicated to the preservation of open space for equestrian events, as well as educational and recreational purposes.
