Sunshine, Cooler Air Settle into Weekend

Sunny skies and seasonable highs will stick around for the better part of the weekend ahead.

Happy Friday! After a damp and dreary Thursday, conditions have rapidly improved as we close out the workweek to the tune of sunshine and highs near 60º. While the bright skies will continue into the weekend, the newfound warmer air will not. A strong area of high pressure to our north will keep things dry across the board in the WCCB Charlotte viewing area, but it will also bring in noticeably colder air. That said, temperatures will still top out right around average for late January, with lower 50s in the Piedmont and Foothills to go along with 40s in the High Country. Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts, because a messy rainmaking system will likely arrive to start out the workweek.
