CMPD: 1 Man Dead, 2 Injured In Fatal North Charlotte Shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD detectives identify 21-year-old Jamias Shropshire as the gunshot victim who passed away in this case, his family has been notified of his death.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives say they are investigating a fatal shooting in north Charlotte where one victim died and two victims are currently in the hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers say they responded to the shooting before 12:30 a.m. on January 24th on Merlane Drive, where they found two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Detectives say one victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medics, the second victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries, and a third victim arrived at Atrium University with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
