CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD detectives identify 21-year-old Jamias Shropshire as the gunshot victim who passed away in this case, his family has been notified of his death.
Homicide Unit detectives continue to investigate the shooting, and ask anyone with information about this incident to call 704-432-TIPS to speak with them directly or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives say they are investigating a fatal shooting in north Charlotte where one victim died and two victims are currently in the hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Officers say they responded to the shooting before 12:30 a.m. on January 24th on Merlane Drive, where they found two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Detectives say one victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medics, the second victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries, and a third victim arrived at Atrium University with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Police say the investigation remains active, and asks anyone with more information to call 704-432-TIPS to speak directly with a Homicide Unit detective or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
