Police: Rock Hill Teen Arrested For Robbing His Friend At Gunpoint

Rock Hill Police say Jaquarious Williams has been identified as a suspect in an attempted murder case that happened on December 24th, 2020 in Cauthen Street.  Additional warrants have been filed against Williams for attempted murder, armed robbery, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and criminal conspiracy.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police say they arrested a teenager who is accused of robbing his friend at gunpoint Tuesday evening in Rock Hill.

Officers with the Rock Hill Police Department responded to North Jones Avenue just after 9pm on January 26th.  Once on the scene, the victim told officers he met up with his 17-year-old friend, Jaquarious Williams.  While hanging out, the victim says Williams pulled out a black handgun with a drum magazine and told him, “Give me everything you got.”

The victim told police that Williams robbed him of several items before running away from the scene, according to a news release.

Rock Hill Police K-9 and the Violent Crimes Unit say they were able to track Williams to a nearby apartment complex.  Williams was taken into custody a short time.  Police say a subsequent search of the apartment resulted in officers recovering a black Glock handgun which fit the description by the victim and a 50 round drum magazine.  The firearm was reported stolen, according to police.

Williams has been charged with armed robbery, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a handgun by a person under 18, and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
