DISCUSSION

A Nor-easter is bringing blizzard conditions to the northeast, but wrap-around moisture from this monster storm will bring more snow, rain, and strong winds to our region. A winter storm warning is in effect through Tuesday afternoon for the mountains. up to 6″ of snow will be possible for areas above 3500′. Cold rain for Piedmont today, along with the patchy fog. Winds will pick up tonight with a wind advisory for the foothills. Gusts could exceed 50mph for the higher elevations with 20-30 mph gusts across the Piedmont Tuesday. Wind chills will make it feel like the mid-30s Tuesday afternoon for Charlotte. But, warmer temps are right around the corner. Highs will reach the mid-50s by mid-week. More rain returns for the weekend.
