Iredell County Assistant Principal Charged With Sexual Exploitation Of Minor

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — An elementary school assistant principal in Iredell County has been accused and charged for committing a sex crime against a child, Iredell-Statesville Schools officials announced Thursday.

According to school officials, Shaun Michael Bock, of Mooresville, was charged by the Mooresville Police Department with one count of Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

Mooresville police say a report was filed with their department on January 26 in reference to a suspected sexual exploitation of a minor between an adult and a minor.

Bock was determined as a suspect in the case after several interviews with witnesses. The Mooresville Police Department then executed a search warrant on the Steam Engine Drive residence and the suspect’s place of employment on Thursday.

Bock has been employed with the Iredell-Statesville School District as an assistant principal at Coddle Creek Elementary since July 2020.

Police said the alleged victim is not a student of Iredell-Statesville Schools.

Bock was suspended on Wednesday, Feb. 3 pending an investigation from the Mooresville Police Department and the school system.

“We will work in full cooperation with authorities to ensure this matter is thoroughly investigated. Our children are our most precious asset. Our job is to protect our children at all cost,” said Jeff James, superintendent of Iredell-Statesville Schools.
