Mecklenburg County Adds More 1st Dose Vaccine Appointments February 12th

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Health officials say starting Friday, February 12th additional first dose appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine will be available through Mecklenburg County Public Health (MCPH) for appointment dates ranging from February 22nd to March 9th.

MCPH officials say they will launch an online vaccination waitlist Friday at 8:30 a.m. for eligible residents here.

County officials say in January they aligned the county’s vaccination plan with Federal and State recommendations, and on February 10th North Carolina established a timeline for Group 3 frontline workers to receive the vaccine.

As vaccine supply remains limited, Mecklenburg County officials say they are focused on getting those in Groups 1 and 2 and pre-K through 12th grade educators in Group 3 vaccinated, before moving onto the rest of Group 3.

Officials say those eligible in Group 3 include staff in childcare centers and homes, head start programs, preschool and pre-K programs, traditional public schools, charter schools, and private schools.

Any eligible community members are invited to make a first dose appointment by calling 980-314-9400 or clicking here.
