Charlotte 49ers Basketball Receives National Recognition

WCCB's Kelli Bartik has the latest on Octavia Jett-Wilson.

A Charlotte player picks up well deserved props after leading the Niners to a pair of wins over Old Dominion.

Octavia Jett-Wilson has been named the National Player Of The Week, becoming the first in school history to receive the honor.

Jett-Wilson averaged 38 points and 11 boards — including a career high 42 points in Charlotte’s double overtime win. Even more impressive, according to head coach Cara Consuegra is that she did it while playing out of position since the 49ers were short-handed.
