CMPD: Missing 10-Year-Old Charlotte Girl Found Safe

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says missing 10-year-old Jayla Duncan, who was last seen Monday morning, has been located.

Detectives say she was located and reunited with her family. The announcement was made around 3:15 p.m. Monday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say they are asking for the public’s help in locating a 10-year-old girl who was reported missing after not showing up for school in west Charlotte Monday morning.

Jayla Duncan was last seen on Weyland Avenue around 8 a.m. Monday. Police say she is a 4th grader at Movement School on Freedom Drive and did not report there today.

A family member contacted authorities around 8:50 a.m. to report her disappearance.

According to CMPD, she is described as a black girl, 5 feet tall and weighing 120 lbs. Duncan was last seen wearing a pink shirt, grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on Duncan’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
