Firefighters Battled Massive Blaze At Crazy David’s Discount Store In Statesville

STATESVILLE, N.C. — Firefighters in Statesville spent hours on the scene battling a massive fire at a popular business.

Crews were called to Crazy David’s Discount Variety Store Tuesday night.  They found fire shooting from the building.

Statesville Police blocked off several streets along Shelton Avenue while firefighters tackled the blaze.

Many residents stood by in shock watching the business go up in flames.  They say the owners of Crazy David’s are staples in the community, and they are heartbroken to see their store destroyed.

Residents told WCCB News they rely on the discount store for food and other items.

The business also sells ammunition which could be heard exploding in the fire.

Fire investigators are searching for clues into what started the blaze.
