Greg Olsen Forgets To Mention Cam Newton In His Retirement Speech

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Pro-footballers and Panthers greats Greg Olsen and Thomas Davis Senior officially retired as Panthers on Thursday. The two signed a one day contract to return to the team and retire. It was a touching, glorious moment for fans.

But.

There was something – or someone – missing from the day’s celebration. His name rhymes with Spam Shooten. Greg didn’t mention Cam Newton in his speech Thursday. He played with the QB for a decade. Olsen says he simply forgot. He said, “I had an entire section in my speech that I prepared that was about my relationship and how much I feel about Cam. And in the midst of my emotions and getting going…I sat down next to my wife and I said ‘Oh my God, I forgot Cam.'”

Olsen says he has probably talked more about Cam in the last 10 years than anyone else in his life.

Our question of the night: are you buying Olsen’s explanation?
