CMPD: Possible Armed Person In South Charlotte Caused Busy Street To Shutdown
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say a possible armed person has caused them to shutdown a portion of a busy south Charlotte road Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to Providence Road and McKee Road around 11 a.m. after reports of a possible armed subject.
Officers have since deescalated the situation.
At the time of the incident, Providence Road at McKee Road and Ballantyne Commons Parkway, and I-485 at Providence Road were completely shut down. The shutdown area was being contained by officers.
The closed streets have now reopened to the public.
No further information is possible at this time. This is a developing story.
