Clouds & Rain Stain Forecast
A few showers may roll in late Saturday into Sunday, but the main event will hold off until Monday.
Plentiful sunshine and warm, southerly winds brought us 60s, 70s, and even 80s for much of this past week, but don’t expect the next few days to keep the trend going. An expansive system currently centered over the Rocky Mountains is throwing clouds and even a few showers our way this weekend, along with noticeably cooler temperatures. While we won’t see the 80s again anytime soon, the comfortable 50s and 60s will prevail over much of the WCCB Charlotte viewing area this weekend. Some stray showers are possible starting late Saturday night, which could carry over into the afternoon Sunday. That being said, most of us shouldn’t see any measurable rain.
Our dry streak certainly is in peril, though. The aforementioned system over the Mountain West will arrive in the Carolinas by Monday evening, bumping up widespread rain chances across both states. A second area of low pressure will develop on the previous storm’s coattails, bringing more wetness to our area by midweek. It appears that Wednesday’s system will be the wetter one for us, as upwards of 1-2″ may fall through the first half of the week. Enjoy the dry times while they last!
