‘Round Town with Rising: SouthPark
Get out, see the sights, and ride 'Round Town with Rising to SouthPark!
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Get out, see the sights, ride ‘Round Town with Rising! Each Tuesday and Thursday we scope out a surprise spot around our city. The latest locale: SouthPark!
We’re starting the day with a little shopping (okay, we were at the mall before it technically opened). It’s the largest mall in our area, with luxury stores like Burberry, Neiman Marcus and Gucci – and more casual stores like Old navy, Bath & Body Works and Macy’s. The mall also has plenty of dining options, from sit down restaurants like Cheesecake Factory to grab-and-go places. The hours are 11AM to 7PM.
After that, we headed out into nature – checking out the bandshell at Symphony Park. Thousands of people come out every weekend in the busy season to enjoy the area. In addition to the Charlotte Symphony, the park is also home to the Summer Pops series.
Finally we’re headed to another great park, the Park Road Park! It’s got a dozen tennis courts, 8 basketball courts, 6 baseball and softball fields – along with a playground, horseshoe pits, a volleyball court and concession stands.
