Rising Celebrates National Corn Dog Day

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Saturday, March 20th is national corn dog day, but we’re celebrating a day early on Rising (because we’re not coming in tomorrow).

We’re taking a crack at two different easy corn dog recipes – and the first one has cheese.

Cheesy Crescent Corn Dogs aka pig in a blanket on a stick.

All you need is:

  • a pack of crescent rolls
  • a pack of 8 hot dogs
  • sliced cheese of choice
  • skewers

Roll cheese and hot dogs into the crescent rolls, the insert wooden skewers just halfway in. Bake on 375 for 9-12 minutes

Mini Jiffy Corn Dogs:

  • 1 pack of Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix
  • 10-12 hot dogs
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 Cup of Flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Paprika
  • Dash of salt
  • Vegetable Oil

Preheat oil, combine ingredients & pour into tall drinking glass, cut hot dogs in half and insert wooden skewers, then dip in the batter and fry for 3 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towel.
