CMPD: Juvenile Charged In Northlake Mall Shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives charged a juvenile suspect with attempted murder following a shooting at Northlake Mall on Saturday.
Detectives say this juvenile was arrested for trying to kill another juvenile in this case, and was found as result of officers continued investigation efforts.
The investigation into this case remains active and ongoing.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say Northlake Mall was evacuated Saturday afternoon after they received reports of a shooting.
Off-duty CMPD officers first heard a shot fired inside the mall around 4 p.m. near Entry 4 when they immediately called for back up.
Officers say they secured the area surrounding the Charlotte mall after locating evidence of a shooting, but not finding anyone shot.
Officers say two people have been taken to a local hospital for reasons not related to gunshot wounds.
Detectives say they are working to locate potential victims or suspects, and officers have established a family reunification point at the lower level of the Belk parking lot.
