Online “Painted Ponies Auction” Is Saturday, April 3rd; Register Now

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – The Painted Ponies Auction is coming up! It’ll be live and online on Saturday, April 3 from 5:00 to 6:30p. Professional auctioneers Ben Ferrell and Matt Newsom will host the Second Annual Auction. You can register here now to bid on your favorite painted pony.

There are also several raffle options and the chance to donate to the “Fund A Potty” campaign to build permanent bathroom facilities at the Carolina Horse Park.

You can watch the Live Auction and bid through any device with internet access (phone, computer and tablet) so make plans to host a socially distant “watch party” and try to outbid your friends and family! All Auction proceeds benefit the Carolina Horse Park Foundation.

The Painted Ponies Art Walk ends Tuesday, March 30. This is a public art display of 12 life-size sculptures of horses that line Broad Street in Southern Pines. Visitors can walk around the downtown area and view the Ponies, as well as shop, dine and stroll. Local businesses sponsor each Pony, and area artists donate their time and talent to turn each Pony into a piece of beautiful art.

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – A fun family event is just days away from kicking off in Southern Pines, NC. Southern Pines (about a two hour drive from Charlotte) will host the “Painted Ponies Art Walk” from Saturday, January 30 to Tuesday, March 30.

This is a public art display of 12 life-size sculptures of horses that line Broad Street in Southern Pines. Visitors can walk around the downtown area and view the Ponies, as well as shop, dine and stroll. Local businesses sponsor each Pony, and area artists donate their time and talent to turn each Pony into a piece of beautiful art.

Along the Art Walk, shop windows will display flyers that have a QR code that you scan and then follow the virtual map to see all 12 Pony locations. (You can also get hand-held maps at the Visitor’s Center at 125 SE Broad Street.)

The Painted Ponies will then be auctioned off on April 3, to raise funds for Carolina Horse Park’s educational and environmental programs. The Carolina Horse Park (CHP) Foundation was established to create and support a 315-acre, nationally recognized premier equine competition venue and land preserve located in Hoke County, NC. Founded in 1998 as a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization by equestrian enthusiasts, CHP is dedicated to the preservation of open space for equestrian events, as well as educational and recreational purposes.
