‘Round Town with Rising: Davidson

Get out, see the sights, and ride 'Round Town with Rising to Davidson!

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Get out, see the sights, ride ‘Round Town with Rising!  Each Tuesday and Thursday we scope out a surprise spot around our city.  The latest locale: Davidson!

We’re kicking things off in Davidson, checking out the downtown area. It’s also known as “Restaurant Row” with plenty of local options – an dsome nationally recognized ones like Kindred.

There’s also lots for the art lovers, with galleries, craft stories, and rotating exhibits at the Belk Visual Arts Museum.

Up next – we’re going back to school, and checking out Davidson College. The school is perhaps most famous for its 2008 NCAA tournament run, where a guy (you may have heard of) named Steph Curry led the team to the Elite 8, where they lost to the eventual tournament champ.

Finally, we’re closing the day with some nature – over at Roosevelt Wilson Park. The park has a playground, picnic areas, boardwalks and much more. Plus – it’s got a great pond, with a bubbling fountain – perfect for picnics, fishing, bird watching (or walking) and exercise.
