‘Round Town with Rising: Gastonia

Get out, see the sights, and ride 'Round Town with Rising to Gastonia!

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Get out, see the sights, ride ‘Round Town with Rising!  Each Tuesday and Thursday we scope out a surprise spot around our city.  The latest locale: Gastonia!

We’re starting our day off in the downtown area. Plenty to do around here for fans of the arts… from sculptures and statues to craft shops. There’s even several antique shops if that’s up your alley. Then, you’ve got your restaurants, breweries, cafes and plenty of places to grab a bite to eat.

After we get our fill of arts and food – we’re heading to catch a game at the new Honey Hunters stadium, the Fuse District Stadium. It’s part of a 16-acre downtown redevelopment plan known as the Franklin Urban Sports and Entertainment (FUSE) District.

Finally, after food and baseball – it’s time for ice cream, so we’re stopping by Tony’s Ice Cream. It’s a family-owned restaurant with 28 flavors of ice cream, homemade next door. It’s also got food, from sandwiches and hot dogs – to chicken and more.
