Warm and Muggier with Storms Moving in Late Thursday

Does anyone notice how much muggier it feels? Temps reached the low 70s yesterday, with the upper 70s on tap this afternoon. Patchy fog first thing this morning with this warm, moist air mass in place ahead of a cold front approaching from the west. This disturbance will likely trigger a severe weather outbreak across the south with a Level 5/5 threat for Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama this afternoon and evening. A few storms are possible west of Charlotte today. Strong winds are the biggest threat. The mainline will bring showers and storms overnight into early Friday which will limit the severe threat locally. Clouds clear Friday afternoon allowing temps to soar into the low 80s tomorrow. Unsettled with showers and storms Saturday. Sunday bringing on the chance for more storms with a few possibly becoming severe. The biggest threats will be damaging wind and heavy rain leading to localized flooding, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Temps will cool and clouds will clear early next week with highs reaching the mid-60s.
