SHELBY, N.C. — The City of Shelby will partner with iDaph events to host its first ever Love Run 5K on Friday, April 16th in support of the Cleveland County Rescue Mission (CCRM).
Officials invite runners of all levels to sign up here for this scenic evening 5K, with proceeds benefitting the CCRM who exist to serve the homeless, poor, and addicted populations in Cleveland County.
Runners will meet at Hanna Park on McBrayer Springs Road in Shelby, N.C. on April 16th, and officials say runners will start their run on paths of the park at 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. in a rolling, wave start format.
Officials say 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the continuous work of recovery, rescue, and restoration to Cleveland County individuals provided by the CCRM
“I would love to see community members become aware of the significant impact we are having on thousands of lives within our area,” says Jessica May, Chief Development Officer, CCRM. “We are helping them in various ways such as providing warm meals, safe shelter, clothing, and a free residential recovery programs women and children. The funds raised at this event will help us to continue to provide the love these individuals need as they pick up the pieces and move forward in a healthy, positive way.”
Participants who register before March 13th to run, either virtually or in-person, will receive a free t-shirt and all participants will receive a finisher medal.
