Iredell County Police Arrest Serial Breaking And Entering Suspect
IREDELL CO., N.C. — Iredell County Police say one man has been charged for his alleged involvement in several reported break-ins across western Iredell County.
Timothy Coley, 43, of Troutman, North Carolina is charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and attempted felony breaking and entering for his involvement, detectives say.
Officials with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office say law enforcement first began receiving reports about outbuildings and construction sites on the western side of Iredell County being broken into, with tools and other items being stolen, on Saturday, March 13th.
Detectives say from these reports they were able to determine a light colored jeep was the suspect vehicle.
Investigators say on March 20th they were notified a suspect was attempting to get inside a building on Old Mountain Road, and when deputies arrived at the scene, two witnesses said the suspect was driving a light silver colored Jeep Wrangler.
Police say with this information and the suspect vehicle’s license plate number, they were able to track down Timothy Coley in the suspect vehicle, who was arrested on driving related offenses and taken to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives say after interviewing Coley, based on evidence and statements taken, they were able to apply for and receive felony arrest warrants for the series of break-ins.
Police say Coley is being held at the Iredell County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.
