Man Charged For Fatal Shooting At Northwest Charlotte Gas Station

Charlotte police have arrested and charged a man with murder after a 21-year-old was fatally shot at a northwest Charlotte gas station Wednesday night.

Police say with the help from the community and an investigation, 36-year-old Dejanarell Markes Cherry was identified as the suspect in the homicide case of Davyon Farrer.

Cherry was then arrested and interviewed by detectives before being transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office where he has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to CMPD.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was fatally shot near a northwest Charlotte gas station Wednesday night.

Officers responded to a CITGO on Beatties Ford Road around 10:30 p.m. after receiving an assault with deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, they found a man with a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 21-year-old Davyon Jermaine Farrer, was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
