Matthews Police Asking For Public’s Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

MATTHEWS, N.C. — The Matthews Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect accused of an armed robbery that happened early Saturday at a convenience store.

According to police, the suspect entered Adam’s Mart, located on East Independence Boulevard, around 2:50 a.m. and demanded money by threatening the store clerk with a handgun. The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

There were no injuries or shots fired reported from this incident, police say.

The suspect has been described as a black man, around 6′ tall, weighing 140 lbs., with a slim build.
