CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old that occurred in south Charlotte back in February has been classified as a justified homicide.
After reviewing the case, officials with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office say they agreed with detectives to not charge anyone.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are conducting a south Charlotte homicide investigation after a 22-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday night.
Officers responded to El Verano Circle, off of Sharon Lakes Road, just before 11 p.m. after receiving reports of a person being shot at an apartment complex.
Upon arrival, police located a man, identified as Joshua Fleming, who had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene by Medic. Fleming would have celebrated his birthday on Thursday, police say.
According to initial information, CMPD says that Fleming and the shooter knew each other. No arrests have been made and police have not released any information on the suspect.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
